November 15, Day 1: Left Manila exactly at 7:10pm via Cebu Pacific. Thank God we did not encounter problems with CebuPac. My parents, who left a day earlier than us, had problems with their flight as they were supposed to leave Manila at 4:40pm but left Manila a little past 9pm. Arrghh! Anyway, we're all thankful for a safe flight. That's what I think is very important.
We arrived Hong Kong at 9:10pm as scheduled. After immigration, etc, we then proceeded to look for our bus shuttle driver who was waiting for us in front of The Spaghetti House at the HKIA. You might think that we got a tour package for our Hong Kong trip because we had a shuttle bus driver waiting. No. I wouldn't advice you to get a packaged tour if you plan to go to Hong Kong. Even for a first-timer, I still wouldn't advise you to do so. Surf the web, join forums such as Pinoyexchange, you'd find all the answers you need to the questions you have. Complete with maps, fare prices, everything. What we did was to book hotel rooms here in Manila from a travel agency and which eventually comes out cheaper that booking hotel rooms online, and the package included shuttle service to and from the hotel/airport and vice versa, with daily breakfast coupons at Mc Donalds. Half-day tours are not part of the package so we are not stuck to the usual tours that we have already been to and seen.
To continue, were surprised that a cute Chinese lady was waiting for us. She was in-charge of our shuttle transfers and breakfast vouchers. We all then proceeded to the bus which will drive us all to Ramada Hotel in Kowloon. It was lovely to see Hong Kong at night. The lighted tall buildings looked like starts from afar. This place is indeed alive even at night. Of course, we wouldn't compare it to Las Vegas, right? It took us around 45mins from the airport to the hotel. As we reached the hotel, my parents were already waiting for us. Remember, they left a day earlier? Along with them are my brother's in-laws who took us out for dinner that night. Boy, we were hungry. Haha! We had a few snacks at the airport but what we wanted was authentic Chinese food. We were all hungry for noodles, dimsum, etc. We all just checked-in and off to Mongkok we went for Dinner. We had dinner at the the Lee Woo Yuen Korean Japanese Restaurant and had an eat-all-you can feast. Yummy! Address: 1/F, Dundas Square, 43H Dundas Street, Mongkok. Tel: 2384 6980/2384 6985. Dinner ended at half-past 1am, and we were all ready to rest and sleep at around 2am ready for Day 2.

to be continued...
It's great that you and your family took time to bond together in a trip. Looking forward to the rest.
