Hong Kong in November : Day 2

Novermber 16 Day 2: Everyone was up and ready for breakfast at 8am. Excited? Yay! We all met at the hotel lobby and proceeded to the Mc Donald's branch just across the street, at the Toyo Mall. Right after breakfast, my relatives wanted to have their money changed to HK dollars. I told them that we know a trusted money changer who'd give us good rates. When I say good, they really have great rates compared to the others in HK, with no charges or commissions at all. They found a Western Union branch at the ground floor of the Toyo Mall and asked what the rate was. Since it was being manned by a Filipina, they were given rates a bit higher than the usual. My tita planned to buy a digicam so she wanted to have her money changed immediately.
Kulit ni Papa, pose kung pose! Haha!

We started walking from Chatham Road south down to Wing Hoi Money changer*** at the Mirador Arcade on Nathan Rd. passing by several other streets. When touring HK, walk the walk! Here you can see Hubby and I leading the walking tour. Haha!

We reached WING HOI Money changer*** and passed by the Bristol Ave. entrance. My relatives then said that they should have listened to me. They saw how excellent, take note, I said excellent and not good, the rates were. Lesson learned! While walking past rows of electronic stores, my tita spotted a digicam similar to mine. She wanted to buy a Nikon digicam because she saw how I operate and tinker with my cam with much ease. They went in and out of the stores and spotted one for a good price. She was able to get the same camera as mine, a Nikon Coolpix S210 for HK1350. Not bad. Convert it to pesos and you'd get it for only Php 8,100 (1HKD - 6PHP)!!! Last time we checked the malls, it was still priced at Php11-14K. Bravo!

Photo-ops with the store owner. Now testing the cam my tita (behind me) bought.

We then proceeded to Canton Rd. passing by Haiphong Rd. We were in a rush to reach 33 Canton Road, Tsim Sha Tsui, Kowloon, Hong Kong to buy tickets for Macau that day, as we were all scheduled to have lunch at my tita's place in Kowloon Tong. Meeting time at the Ramada Hotel lobby was at 11:30am. We walked back to the hotel without taking short stops at stores. That can be saved for another day.
