One Sunday at the mall's parking space, I saw a handicapped, elderly woman alight from her car. 2 of her companions were there by her side, not to assist her but was tinkering on something else. Then I saw a wheelchair come out of the car, and to my surprise the elderly woman was shifted from the car seat straight to the wheelchair. I remember my Grandma who passed away 2 months ago. Well, all she had was a wheelchair, though. As soon as I got home, I went online to search for something related to what I saw. Then I found NMEDA. NMEDA is an Association of Mobility Dealers, Manufacturers and Rehabilitation Professionals that advocates providing safe, reliable vehicles and modifications to enhance accessibility for all people. The organization promotes and supports individual members engaged in the modification of quality transportation for people with disabilities. Will the car insurance companies cover this?
To add to that, members of NMEDA are entitled to excellent benefits. Aside from the discounts, Quality Assurance Program (QAP) is a part of it too. With this being said, you are guaranteed mobility equipment dealers who are audited for compliance with Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standards. There is no need to worry.
I want to know more, so I'm headed to their webpage again.
