Jollibee and the Seniors

Yesterday, while waiting for my parents to arrive at a Jollibee branch in our area, I saw a group of cheerful senior citizens, all clad in yellow, having their breakfast. All of them were in high spirits. While I was alone enjoying my Longganisa meal, I couldn't help but notice them. They were all jolly. Some I heard were talking about the news, some planning their next get-together. It was a lovely sight. I get teary-eyed when I see a bunch. I feel for them. I am proud to say the both my parents already have their Senior Citizen ID Cards. I am not ashamed to tell everyone about it. All the more, I am proud because they do not look their age. Ever heard of HGH? Human Growth Hormone. This is the most critical hormone responsible for growth in children and teens. I have yet to research on these human growth hormone facts. Maybe both of them have increased HGH levels to slow down the aging process.

Now, going back to my story, I am even prouder because the branch's crew and manager were so attentive to their needs. The scene was like a child caring for both parents which is a very typical Pinoy trait. Here I am, getting emotional again. Cry baby! Kudos to Jollibee Alabang-Zapote Rd. branch for valuing these people. Very pinoy. They even had a Happy Birthday song for one the seniors there. The birthday girl was charming. Very pleasing. Soft spoken. She thanked the staff for greeting her and singing her the Birthday song. I knew that it came from the bottom of her heart. Then I heard her say, "I am enjoying my birthday with friends my age. Thank you. All my children are abroad and they have yet to greet me today." What I heard struck me. I looked far away and dried my tears. My parents came just as I was done sobbing. They noticed it. I told them the story. Then my Dad said, "now you know the reason why we head here after our morning exercise?" I just smiled. Now I know why. Jollibee, you are the best. Pinoy na pinoy talaga!
