Good bye, 2009... hello 2010

Aha! It's the last day of the year 2009. How has it been for you? I hope you all had a good one. As for me, the year 2009 was great. Actually, it is a combination of both good and bad. I'd like to believe it has been a great year for me. Though faced with troubles, challenges, and other negative vibes, it still was a good one. I managed to survive everything that came my way. Why dwell on the negative side of things when you can actually turn it into a positive one, right?

So, move over NEGATIVITY! I'm geared up with all my noise makers to chase you and the bad spirits away!

Thank you, 2009. Hello, 2010.... I am praying and wishing to spend another great year with you!!!

ps: can I wish for a baby this year?

This morning, I arrived home and was greeted with a warm, loving kiss from my husband. I asked why he was up so early. It was only when I arrived that he told me he hasn't gotten enough sleep during the night due to severe abdominal pain. I panicked. I was also irked by the fact that he has been experiencing that throbbing pain for 2 days now but only got to mention it to me when he couldn't bear it any longer. Boys..... or should I say MEN.... I then decided to rush him to the doctor. Though the pain has subsided, I decided to take him to the ER instead. We stayed there for a good 5hrs. Lab tests here, lab tests there, Xrays, etc. First impression was appendecitis but was ruled out after an hour or so. I saw his chart and it stated - DIAGNOSIS: Hepatobiliary disease (which afftects the hepatobiliary system)*. Ugh, what was that!?!?!? His doctor didn't advise him to leave yet as they wanted to check if he needs to be confined or not. Hour after hour, we waited. Then finally we got the clearance to go home. Hubby was so glad because he'd get to spend New Year at home. He's on a soft diet, though. We have to be back next week to have an abdominal ultrasound done. I'm hoping and praying that it will turn out good.

* : The hepatobiliary system refers to the liver, gall bladder and bile ducts – organs that are involved with the production, storage, transport and release of bile, a secretion that prepared fats for further digestion. (via: The University Hospital)
